Civil Service League Team Blitz Tournament
11 May 2006
This event is for teams of four players and seems to have been contested most years since 1967–1968. GLCC have won it most often (10 times), followed by Inland Revenue and UNATS (8 times each). The only Home Office victory was in 1991–92.
A total of 12 teams entered this event this year, one more than last year. The Home Office entered three teams. There were two each from Met Police, DHSS and UNATS, and one from Revenue & Customs, SPARTA and GLCC.
There were several upsets on individual boards but in general the stronger teams came out on top. The event turned out to be quite exciting with the outcome in doubt until the final round.
